Day Three - Closing

On the final day of the Forum, Research and Development team leader Dr. Hyeran Yang gave an overview of APCEIU¡¯s mission to the mass media professionals. She shared opportunities and venues, including Sang Saeng magazine, to which  participants can relate their activities and contributions.
This was followed by plenary discussions led by moderator, Ms. Tapu Misa, (columnist of the New Zealand Herald) and Mr. Rustem Rakhimov(Senior reporter, Channel Seven, Kazakhstan) who encouraged participants to share their reflections on the experience. Many expressed the desire that the forum could be extended a couple more days, citing an overly-packed schedule. Others voiced a need for an online networking tool that would allow participants to stay connected after the forum. One participant commented on the need for concrete steps and indicators that could verify that the forum made a measurable difference for international understanding. Overall, there was overwhelming gratitude on behalf of the participants for the rich cultural experience and valuable opportunity to connect with mass media professionals around Asia-Pacific.
The forum concluded with the presentation of APCEIU certificates to participants. Before departing, participants were treated to a final Korean meal at a traditional restaurant, where they took in the complete Korean experience by sitting on floor cushions and becoming surprised by the never-ending flow of appetizers and food choices.
